Wondering what the use of studying literature and humanities is? Check this out: the best doctors have studied -- no, not more statistics -- literature and humanities and it makes them better doctors and scientists.

Current Classes

Sick of the prices being charged by ripoff campus bookstores and textbook publishers? I always post my reading lists well ahead of the start of class so you can save money by buying your books online. You should request your other instructors and professors to do the same--remember, they too were once students and your request for a reading list in advance of the start of class will likely seem not only reasonable but will be met with sympathy. A new service for students is now available; check out Campus Book Swap.

Literature 271 - Science Fiction & Fantasy

Humanities 107 - American Culture in Film

Done-deal Classes (but ones that'll probably come 'round again) - If you're in one of my Lit or Humanities classes you might want to search (see below) this site for useful links and info.

Humanitites 101 - Intro to Humanitites (Fall 2004)

Literature 270 - Hardboiled Dectective Fiction and Film Noir (Summer 2005)

Literature 210: "Myths and Folklore" (Winter 2006) - syllabus and more are available, plus this list of required texts. The students of Lit 210 have created a collection of folklore.... Zeus says, "Check it out!"
