There are lots of negative reviews of Werewolf--it is just way too up on its high horse for some folks. I'm a big Pelevin fan, but haven't seen this yet. Humbly may I submit: Pelevin's best is immortal, but I think his work is uneven - I loved Blue Lantern, but couldn't get into Buddha's Little Finger.
