There’s about an article’s worth of material about the Orinoco and Amazon rivers and cultures here — the rest is crap fill. Comparing himself to Stanley searching for Livingston, calculating risk ad naseum to which, Starks the co-author in whose voice the book is written, is adverse. So the book is boring!
